This is the best tool in recent times for me, this has removed so much hassles of daily activity of fiddling with Google, unlike other tools it does not start doing automatic calls to Google, avoiding your IP to be banned by Google.

Once installed as an add on with Firefox, you just have to search in through Google and there you go!, all Google results would be having options below to each result.

Check PR, age of the domain, Yahoo back links, Yahoo .edu links, Whois, compete.com ranking, MSN links etc.

The results are on request, so you need to click each option to get result, this way you would not be banned from Google.

It also helps in finding do-follow and no-follow links, as it displays ‘no follow” links on every page you visit. You may do a complete check on a domain for all the options.

This tool is must have for all the webmasters.

Finding .edu links, backlinks - get millions of them

Many webmasters are working day and night for finding correct back links for their websites. We all know the importance of thematic linking. “.edu” web pages are considered to be the best source of back links for any website to perform on google.

I tried many tools and utilities but couldn’t succeed, it is same as finding do-follow blogs to comment for getting nice back links.

Google search itself has nice collections of advance options to perform domain specific search.

- Open google.com and select ‘advance search option’

- In “Find web pages that have…” option further select “all these words” and type your keywords like this “blog, technology”

- Further in “search within a site or domain type “.edu”

- You would locate an option with “date, number etc. with a + sign, click on this option to expand, and you can set your search to be specific for a region or a country, like finding .edu websites with the above mentioned keywords in United States.

- Hit the “advance search button” and in google search, it would appear like this “blog, technology site:.edu

That is it, you would get loads of results, for the above mentioned keyword search, google resulted me 100,000 webpages. Finding the right blog for commenting or for a link exchange should not be a problem.

For finding more pages with different keywords simply, change the key words and type in the same shortcut method in google to search, for e.g. ‘personal, blog site:.edu”

Frankly this has worked for me, not for this blog but other blog which I have been pushing very hard.

Adding google analytics code to WordPress

When started my new blog with wordpress it was totally a new experience. Wordpress had lot of plugins to offer as compared to b2evolution which seems to be more towards work flow management.

I tried searching on google for any famous plugin that can allow me to add analytics code to this wordpress blog. I found semiologic-dot-com/software/google-analytics/ and when tried, could not find any analytics codes within my home page source.

I followed the instructions again to check whether I was wrong somewhere, in the last two lines of instructions it was written

  1. If it said Tracking Not Installed, click on Check Status. Google then checks your blog for the Analytics Code Block and reports back if it find it or not.
  2. If not, try re-adding the Google Analytics Code Block.

Well if it is not able to add in first instance, how would it be able to add it later on. It seems they are creating fake plug ins for just publicity or may be the .php script has lot of bugs.

The simpler way to add the code

Log in to your control panel, go to “Presentation” and select theme editor and open footer.php (make sure your footer.php has 777 rights enabled) and add the google analytics code just before </body> and check the status. If it doesn’t works try adding the “ga.js” code and retry again.

If your domain doesn’t have a 301 redirect, your url would be without “www”, make sure you have entered the correct url in google analytics.

Surely It will work.

Is it possible to get indexed in Google within a day?

You need not await a miracle to get listed in Google within a day, yes it is true, read more to find out.

To begin, we need to understand what does it mean by the term “getting indexed”, type the url of your website in Google for e.g. www.mysite.com, and if you see your website in search results it means your website has been indexed in Google, if not you need to get it indexed inside Google and that is what we are talking about here in this post.

Never try and use google’s website submission, as it tales 3-4 weeks for getting indexed in google by this method.

The best approach begins with finding websites getting higher ranks on the keywords related to your website, for e.g. if you are having a website which suggests names for your pets, the top most keyword for you should be “Pet names”, list down all top websites having more then 4 PR (Google Page Rank). It is very easy to find PR of a website, visit toolbar.google.com and download the tool bar for your browser.

Visit all the websites and check their home pages and send emails to the website owners (webmasters) and request them for a link exchange, it is difficult but you should write email which might convince them. Websites having more then 6PR should be difficult to convince, but websites with lower PR might agree for a link exchange.

Never concentrate on buying links as that is the easier way for getting link exchange, but google now penalizes such sites (both who sells and buys links).

Once you have succeeded in getting link exchanges, you should get listed in a day.

Now that you’re in google’s index, you can start giving attention to increase your page rank.
